You will not get bored from playing this game. However, I bought it again and yet its not downloading =/
Good game if you like retro. No improvemts for graphics for high resolution.
This game is a great way to relax, kill time, or temporarily relegate the more important things in your life to the backburner. Playing through the game in its entirety will take at least a few hours, but the replay value will give you at least dozens of hours thereafter. The campaigns make you feel particularly clever, once you get the hang of them. It is also a game that looks great, especially on retina screens. (On my MacBook Pro you just need to change the video settings in the game to be 16:10 aspect ratio, then you can change the resolution all the way up to 2880 * 1800). Also note the keystroke—cmd+m—to automatically pause and minimize the game so that you can jump to another application without having to close down your game; (sadly, the music keeps playing when you minimize the game). My only beef with it is that it cant play in a windowed-mode. There are the seldom-occuring glitches and programming errors that might catch you off-guard here and there, but Ive never run into any that are more than trivial.
MULTIPLAYER !! ?????? WHY doesn’t work ??
Love this game! Would be nice to play through the Internet. I hope it would be possible soon :)
Bellissimo come sempre
Only issue is that I needed this, like, ten years ago.
Im so happy I came across this game on the App Store. Im addicted to this game now more than ever.. I remember playing this game on my old PC and now on my wonderful 15 inch Macbook Pro Quad i7. I love that its still 2D... Ive played Worms for PS2 in 3D and it felt all wrong. Online multiplayer or even on a network would be awesome, but Im giving it 5 stars anyway just because I love this game!
Fired up the campaign and found out something interesting, apparently the computer player gets a fancy new weapon unavailable to the human player: Heat-seeking Grenades. Whenever I see the computer switch to using a regular old grenade, I know for certain that one of my worms is going to eat it. Seriously, each game feels like "Wanted" with Angelina Jolie where assassins can move bullets around with their mind after theyve fired them. These grenades will bounce around several times and somehow always nestle next to your worm and, to show it wasnt all an accident, the fuse is usually set to go off exactly as the grenade lands. The only way a mere mortal can hope to defeat the fury of a pentium processor is that the computer player will actually shoot its own worms out of pity. Nothing makes a game less fun than winning out of pity. Seriously, though, Team17 needs to work for NORAD or something because those grenade guidance systems would significantly shorten the US occupation of Afghanistan.
Id never choose this but I have a receipt from the store that says I bought it, Im the only one that uses this computer and I dont have charges for anything else that I did not buy, I wish the error had been a more fun game and less expensive OUCH
The application is great! I loved playing this game back in the day. However, every time I close the app on a 15" 2.2 i7 MBP, an error message pops up saying that the app unexpectedly quit...weird!
I forgot about this game until recently a month ago, but as soon as I remembered how much fun I had with this when I was 11 years old 7 years ago, I HAD to download it right away. But then, to my dismay, it wouldnt work with my new MacBook. I was heartbroken! THEN, I get onto the App Store a few days ago and my favorite childhood game was available for MAC! YES. I strongly sugegst this game! Youll spend hours playing it! The campaigns are really fun and the customization is better than ever! Great game! Great app! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE update with a online multiplayer option. Then it would be PERFECT.
I played this as a child and couldnt pass up the opportunity. I loved worms and played back in the worms two days. I really hope to see an online multiplayer system added.
Good old worms fun. Would be nice to see the multiplayer support over internet, but for now its keeping quiet happy. And for $10, its a bargain.
Only four worms to a team and lacking the options and polish of Worms World Party.
well this game is the best game out there on the mac app store! its great and u wont ever get bored of it but it needs one thing.. online multiplayer and i hope one day well get that :D
As a kid I loved playing Worms 2 and Worms Armagaedon. Coming back, heres what Im disappointed with: -Only 4 worms per team -Computers lack weapon diversity (this has always been a problem) -Worms arent very mobile without ninja ropes/jet packs, their jumps are especially short (and seem shorter than I remember, even) -No descriptions of weapons or their damage -Didnt feel like most weapons gave me strategic diversity: I found it extremely hard to predict how I would move a worm by hitting it with a weapon, which made the game feel -unidimensional -Even when I played a mission over again because I lost, I didnt feel like strategizing really changed up the game, because again I felt like I had very little control here. Mostly games seemed to go differently because computers did a random move -Campaign puzzles are far too easy. When youre given one item to work with, its pretty obvious what to do. -Campaign races with the ninja rope/jet pack were also too easy -There isnt an option to increase the difficulty level as far I could tell -Dont like how the weapon interface covers the whole screen; this is especially annoying on games with shorter move times. This contributes to not being able to think about what a smart move would be that turn This is just a long list of little things that added up to a very disappointing experience. Im going to go back to playing Arcanists, which, while not nearly as humorous, I find much more strategically engaging.
Ive played this game since it came out for Nintendo 64 and i think its a great game for MAC and it runs awesome .. i have a 15 Inch macbook pro and its just great! Although i do agree it should have an online server to play against other people worldwide.
love it cant stop playingg four stars because when i do play it, my computer goes crazy and it heats up!
